Shirlene Davis grew up in a musical family in New Jersey and Joy W’Njuguna grew up in a family of tea merchants in Kenya. Now they are based in Nashville, Tennessee, headquarters of their company “Royal Tea of Kenya,” which markets tea grown in Kenya to the United States. Missoula has been added to that market – and in this feature interview, they talk with News Director Sally Mauk about tea – and about empowering women.tea
Kenya is the world’s third largest producer of tea and W’Njuguna herself comes from a long line of tea farmers and merchants. Her 112-year-old grandfather in fact, still runs a tea  farm in central Kenya.
