obesityNearly a third of Americans are obese – a statistic that alarms health professionals who know the personal and societal costs of the obesity epidemic. An annual study by the United Health Foundation ranks the health of states based on their obesity rates, and a number of other factors, including drinking. Montana does well on obesity but poorly on drinking – putting us 29th overall. Vermont is the nation’s healthiest state; Mississippi the least.
