Wisconsin Democrat Russ Feingold served 18 years in the U.S. Senate before losing his seat in 2010 to a tea party Republican. Feingold is an unabashed progressive known for his opposition to the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, but also for working across the aisle on issues like campaign finance reform. He’s written a book called ” While America Sleeps: A Wake-up Call for the Post 9/11 Era.” In this feature interview, Feingold talks with News Director Sally Mauk about his belief that Americans have slipped away from the notion that we should be more aware of what’s going on in the world…

  1. i originated the idea of presidential debates with the personal endorsement of former first lady Eleanor Roosevelt.
