Retired Princeton history professor James McPherson has been called “America’s Historian” because of the accessibility of his research. McPherson won a Pulitzer prize for his book “Battle Cry of Freedom”, and is a leading authority on the history of the Civil War. McPherson is in Missoula to lecture at the University of Montana.
